This guy walks in the door and you think he looks out of place and your right because he’s a new yorkian and he looks every bit the typical new yorkian. dress, speech, the air that surrounds him, like the whole package was put in a container and shipped over here, a character from a tom waits song, new york is under his skin, but lucky for us he is in sydney for a while and shooting at the moth studios.
And it’s terrific work.

this is a shot i took while visiting my girlfriends family farm. badja is down south-east new south wales and pretty far from anywhere as far as i can tell. i’m originally from the country but i’ve never seen so much wildlife in such abundance. wallabies, echidnas, koalas, goannas, wild boar, streams full of trout, and at one stage we sat and watched for minutes while two baby foxes chased each other right in front of us. it’s so good to see there are still places like this in australia. i think i have lost some perspective since moving to sydney, so much development and over-crowding, images of logging and mining on tv, i forgot what the other side of australia is like. im lucky to be able to take shots like this, in 30 years most of it will probably be gone.
